Way up west (way up west),

there’s a story told (there’s a story told)

about a bunch of cowboys.

Tiny and bold. (tiny and bold)

Ridin’ tall. (ridin’ tall)

Tall in the saddle!

Herdin’ cows the size of schnauzers

but they’re cattle!

YIPPIE AYE AY, MINI SIRLOIN BURGERS!

YIPPIE AYE OH, MINI SIRLOIN BURGERS!

Happy Birthday Jerry

Other Music

Jerry Garcia left us on Wednesday, August the 9th 1995.
Millions of us mourned the loss, and wished him Godspeed.
Our prayers are with him, his family, and the Grateful Dead.
Let us all begin anew to celebrate Jerry’s gentle life,
and enjoy the phenomenal musical legacy he left behind!

Jerry Garcia

Fare you well, my honey
Fare you well, my only true one
All the birds that were singing
Have flown except you alone
Going to leave this broke-down palace
On my hands and my knees I will roll, roll, roll
Make myself a bed by the waterside
In my time – in my time – I will roll, roll, roll

In a bed, in a bed
by the waterside I will lay my head
Listen to the river sing sweet songs
to rock my soul

River gonna take me
Sing me sweet and sleepy
Sing me sweet and sleepy
all the way back home
It’s a far-gone lullaby
sung many years ago
Mama, Mama, many worlds I’ve come
since I first left home

Going home, going home
by the waterside I will rest my bones
Listen to the river sing sweet songs
to rock my soul

Going to plant a weeping willow
On the bank’s green edge, it will grow, grow, grow
Sing a lullaby beside the water
Lovers come and go – the river roll, roll, roll

Fare you well, fare you well
I love you more than words can tell
Listen to the river sing sweet songs
to rock my soul

The Dead Beats

Local Music, Local Scene, Other Music

I know where I am going to be Saturday July 28, 2007 8pm-midnight.
The Miners Foundry!

The Dead Beats…long known as an incredibly fun and high energy Grateful Dead tribute band, the DeadBeats return to Nevada City for this one summer night. And as the name implies, the DeadBeats originally came together to cover the music of the Grateful Dead. Within this tradition they base their interweaving and often unpredictable jam style.
Together since1994, these days the band plays only occasionally for special events. The band has amassed a loyal following of steadfast fans who are always excited when the band decides to get together and play their hearts out with the music of the Dead.

Rodrigo y Gabriela

Other Music

Stairway To Heaven Live

Holy Cow I love this stuff! I heard some of it on RadioParadise.com.

Rodrigo (Sanchez) and Gabriela (Quintero) are two fast-fingered, Dublin-based, Mexicans with a unique sound created on acoustic guitars. Their music is difficult to define, straddling both world and rock, and often imbued with timeless Hispano – classical influences. The fire in it comes from their life-long passion for metal music. This spring, “Rodrigo y Gabriela,” beat both the Arctic Monkeys AND Johnny Cash to number one in the Irish charts.
