She was thumbin’ a ride down to Mexico
and I could not let her walk
A couple of days and a couple of js
and we began to talk
I talked her in to stayin’ on
we could see the whole world round

I know she loved my Truckin’
cuz she was the rambling kind
But she was always messin’
with the engine in my mind
One day she up and she left me
and I don’t know where she was bound

Well I got a wife and I got a kid
and I’m livin’ on this farm
This simple life I’m livin’
hasn’t done me any harm
I guess I’m kinda’ happy here
with my chicken and my cow
